Carlin Johnson, a young man who has excelled as a Boy Scout, athlete and scholar, is Roseau's newest Eagle Scout, a rare distinction in scouting circles.

Yes, the 2016 Roseau High School graduate can build a fire, scale a wall, survive in the wilderness, and perform lifesaving skills - all parts of the leadership demanded of Boy Scouts of America.

But to be an Eagle Scout is like being an astronaut. You have to fly high above the radar and Carlin, the son of Dean and Jerolyn Johnson, has accomplished that and then some.
