In last week's edition, some dame whose name I didn't recognize and who addressed me as Jack Pine Jeff - a term of endearment only used by my closest associates - lectured me on the pros and cons of the two main candidates for president - Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton, although I've heard them called other names.

Immediately, I tried to think, "Whom do I know is called Valerie?"

Or is it "Who?"

I should have married an English major.
