Gavinn Berg stands out in a crowd and, yes, there are two n's in his first name.

If you're looking for a deputy straight out of Central Casting, he's a ringer for the position.

He's tall and looks like he could dunk a basketball or run a quick pattern as a wide receiver.

"I'm from Fosston, Minnesota," he said earlier this week while sitting in a conference room at the Roseau County Sheriff's Office.

He talked about growing up in Fosston and then threw in the kicker.

"I didn't play any sports in high school," he said.
