In a recent change of command ceremony at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, which is the home of the 25th Infantry Division, there were several ties to Roseau and Roseau County.

Sitting up front as a guest was LTC Val Bernat, Jr., a retired Army veteran from Roseau, who watched proudly as his son assumed the command of the 1st Battalion of the 27th Infantry Regiment.

Those who serve with the Wolfhounds simply call it the 1st of the 27th.
