Chautauqua and French-Canadian/Metis Festival Aug. 26-28

The Chautauqua and French-Canadian/Metis Festival will celebrate history, culture and camaraderie at Old Crossing and Treaty Park near Huot. Ca Claque, a high-energy music, song and dance group from Canada, performed in 2014 and will return to the Festival. Performances will be in the big tent Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27 and 28, at 1 and 3:15 p.m. The band will also provide music for a dance at TJN’s in Red Lake Falls Saturday night.

The 35th annual festival begins Friday, Aug. 26, at 9 p.m. with a bonfire, singing and storytelling. A newcomer to the Festival will be Thomas Barret, an Oj...
