What a fascinating time of year

I might be one of the very few up here who can brag that he or she watched the first ever presidential debate in 1960 between John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon.

It was terrific.

I was in the Twin Cities then and watched as Kennedy rocked while Nixon sweated profusely.

You could see that on TV, but for those listening on the radio back then, Nixon sounded sharp too.

It didn't matter.

The word got out that Nixon tanked it, and he never really regained his momentum although the election, like this present election, was dead even.
