Best Little fishing derby is a smash hit

Last Saturday, it could have been the Fourth of July in February at the Wannaska Lions Club's 20th Annual Hayes Lake State Park Fishing Derby. It was in the low 40s.

Some years, it's been 10 below or even colder.

For the kids, whether they caught a fish or not, it was like Christmas.

Every one of them went home with a door prize that wasn't some trinket out of a Cracker Jack box.

Credit the many sponsors who contribute so willingly to the Wannaska Lions Club. They help make it a popular annual event.
