Craig McMillin is the new fire chief

There has been a changing of the guard at the Roseau Volunteer Fire Department with Chief Jeff Ballard stepping down and Craig McMillin assuming the role of chief.

"I'm staying on with the department," said Mr. Ballard, 48, who served five years as the chief and five years as the assistant chief.

After 17 years with the Roseau Volunteer Fire Department, his new role will be just as important - as a volunteer fireman.
