It was beautiful last weekend in St. Paul as various panhandlers worked outside the Xcel Energy Center during the State Wrestling Tournament.

One old dame gracefully stumbled along towards us with a ragged cardboard sign that read: No money, no job, need food!

Whatever else it said didn't matter.

She wanted money.

I was walking with Oliver Ullman, a man who cost me $7.50 for a large soda the day before - which was outright robbery inside the Xcel - and here this dame was looking for a free handout.

I said nothing. But Ollie did later.
