Steve "Putt" Puttbrese has always had a presence.

Sometimes, it was a menacing presence even if it was all an act.

There were teachers who probably dreaded coming to school a generation ago.

When Putt was spotted at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul in early March, it all came back - what a rough character he had been.

"I was back then," he said and smiled.

The 1986 Roseau High School graduate wrestled for the Rams and was the MVP his senior year, going undefeated in dual meets.
