Golfer Foss is runner-up at Birchmont

When the money is on the line, Jim Foss, a 2007 RHS graduate, does amazing things with a set of golf clubs.

Although he had tied for 20th during the qualifying rounds a week ago Monday and Tuesday to make the 32-man cut by just two strokes at the Bemidji Town and Country Club, he was just getting warmed up.

"I shot 72 on Monday and 77 on Tuesday," he said, neglecting to add that 97 golfers had attempted to make the cut.

There was no way he would be satisfied with anything less than his best once match play began the next day.
