School is starting next week. I originally planned on writing about that for this week’s column. About the different sides of how mothers feel, often in their own head and heart even! Is it a joyous moment when we walk them to the bus, kiss them goodbye, and then dance like nobody’s watching all the way back to the house to get ready for our first day of school lunch celebration (OK, wine celebration- let’s just be honest here!) in a few hours? Or do we walk back home holding back the tears until you get in your front door so the neighbors don’t see your ugly cry face?
