What a time to retire, just nine wolves shy of 200, which is like being a .300 career hitter in Major League Baseball.
Byron is the Rod Carew of trappers, and there are more wolves to trap.
Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) ran a piece in late September with the following headline - Booming wolf population puts wildlife experts on notice
One key paragraph stated: There are now approximately 500 packs, and more than 2,800 wolves across the northern half of the state, according to a Minnesota DNR survey released this week. That's almost 600 more wolves than last year.
