Dodie is 'My Fair Lady' with a Great Gig
August 24, 2019
On any given summer day, Aldora "Dodie" Kjaer, 74, isn't cooped up inside a senior citizens residence resting in a rocking chair.
She's always in the midst of a maddening crowd and hawking her wares, which are corn dogs, cotton candy, and cheese curds.
It's a family affair with the Kjaers, who operate three mobile food stands at county fairs all summer.
It's quite a gig.
Her son, Darin, 53, is impressed with his mom, a 1962 Roseau High School graduate, whose late husband, DeWane, conned her into the business back in the early 1990s when he bought a used food trailer.
