Britt Dahl has a front row seat on Roseau County history

Step inside the Roseau County Museum, and the first display case highlights the founders of the Roseau County Historical Society - Per Olaf Fryklund and Eddy Billberg.

They didn't smile.

On the day in 1907 that Eddy and Bergit Tweet Billberg tied the marital knot, neither one smiled.

Was it the trend back then to look solemn?

"It's been told to me that those photos would be blurry if they had smiled," said Britt Dahl, the museum director and curator.
