Elk hunting takes a back seat to a wildfire

Smoke gets in your eyes.

Earlier this month, it was the start of a perfect hunting outing with all the bases covered.

The party of seven, some of them from Roseau, didn't have to worry about their bodies or their souls.

Feel an appendicitis coming on, Dr. Bryon VandeWege, the local physician, could have done an emergency appendectomy.

And if you were worried about your everlasting soul, Jared Gustafson, the pastor at Roseau Community Church, could have given you absolution.
