Ryan Murray was recently hired as the Assistant Roseau County Highway Engineer replacing the recently retired Greg Dahl.
The Roseau Ram football team was defeated by the Thief River Falls Prowlers by the score of 32-8. Roseau’s lone touchdown was scored by Alec Severson.
The Roseau Volleyball Rams defeated Warroad 3-0. Kiley Borowicz was one of the stars of the game with 10 kills, 16 assists and 7 aces.
Crystal Byfuglien was celebrating her 80th birthday on September 26 at her home.
Jon Paul Brandt and Mattea Lael Jackson, both of Roseau, applied for a marriage license.
10 years ago – Sept. 18, 2010
Dr. Liza Jain, 1999 RHS graduate and 2007 University of Minnesota Medical School graduate joined the staff at Altru Clinic and LifeCare Medical Center. For at least a one-year period, Dr. Liza Jain was working on staff with her father, Dr. Luis Jain.
Lorraine Backlund was celebrating her 90th birthday on September 25 at the First Lutheran Church in Roseau.
Auna Marie Pelowski and Brian Evan Brandt, together with their parents, Jeff and Joni Pelowski and Bill and Kathy Brandt, all of Roseau, were pleased to announce their engagement.
Charley Klotz of Roseau was the winner of the Emotions Kayak Give-away at Annies Trading Post.
The Roseau Rams tennis team was unbeaten in section 8A. Jessamy Jones from the East Grand Forks Greenwave and Abby Ness from Roseau were considered the top two players in Section 8A.
25 years ago – Sept. 22, 1995
Hockey enthusiasts of the Roseau community were diligently working on upgrading the city’s ice arena to include a second olympic-sized ice sheet.
Gabriel Granitz, Gopher 4-H Club, won a purple ribbon at the Minnesota State Fair in the Lawn and Landscape division. Gabriel is the son of Bob and Karen Granitz of Roseau.
Citizens State Bank Badger Facility was celebrating their first anniversary on September 29 with coffee and cake.
Steven Anthony Ross of Roseau and Brandon Edward Moe of Grygla were recent summer graduates from St. Cloud State University.
Two new teachers are conducting classes at the Roseau Christian School. The teachers are Dale Leonard Johnson and his wife Traci Marie Johnson.
Five Roseau performers were honored at the Warroad Summer Theatre banquet. They were Sara Slattery, Tember Melby, Beth Adams, Wendy Fellows and Jim Provance.
Mike Lundbohm and Dick Clay were winners of the first Acorn Tournament, which was played on the 18-hole Roseau Golf Course. New holes were officaly opened on that day.
Roseau’s Christine Lundbohm was a key player on the Concordia College in Moorhead Volleyball team.
