Roseau 7th Grader Advances in Scripps Spelling Bee

Ruby Osweiler, 13, will compete in the Multi-Regional Scripps Spelling Bee on Tuesday, February 16, with the winner advancing to the National Spelling Bee in June.

On February 3, Ruby, the daughter of Kurt and Tami Osweiler, competed in the Regional Spelling Bee Competition via Zoom against 18 other contestants.

"I was in the English Wing in one of the empty classrooms by myself," she said last Friday, noting that the competition lasted a little over an hour.
