Meet a young family that has been stricken by ALS

It's been called "Lou Gehrig's disease" ever since the famed New York Yankees' first baseman died from the disease at age 37 in 1941.

Officially, it is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and it is invariably fatal.

Stormi (née Schwab) Proulx, a 2002 Roseau High School graduate, knows almost everything about the disease that has afflicted the love of her life, her husband Josh, who grew up in Crookston before his family moved to East Grand Forks.
