Roseau PD has a hot pursuit patrol vehicle

Chief Ward Anderson sat in his small office and talked like a school superintendent explaining a recent expenditure for a 2021 Chevy Tahoe Police Pursuit vehicle.

"The squad cars really get paid for out of different monies that come into the police department. It's not like it's just put on the budget that comes out of local taxpayers' dollars."

He's been at the helm for several decades and understands that the public can become concerned about certain expenditures.

Generations ago, cops patrolled on horseback or walked a beat.
