Dick Melvin, the former editor, reporter and columnist for the Roseau Times-Region who served from 1992 to 1996, was tracked down recently.
He was the man with a camera, a passion for good journalism, and an eye for a great quote.
And he knew right where to go when the Times-Region office was located downtown.
He'd head over to Nelson's Cafe where any number of blokes would be sharing the latest gossip - some of it quite titillating.
Dick, a serious guy when behind his desk at this newspaper, had a delightful sense of humor when penning his "Point of Contention" pieces with anoth...
