Roseau County Sheriff Press Release

The Roseau County Sheriff releases information regarding a missing adult South East of the city of Warroad in the Beltrami Island State Forest.

On August 2nd at approximately 4:05 p.m., the Roseau County dispatch received a report of a vehicle parked in the middle of the Bednar Forest Road with the driver’s door open, the vehicle running and no one around. Information gathered indicated this vehicle was at the same location and condition at approximately 10:30 a.m. this same day.

The subject’s family was notified and verified that 38-year-old Ryan Tadd Grindahl of Warroad had not been seen since the night before.

Contact with the subject’s cell phone was attempted through Verizon Wireless.

On August 3rd, the search continued with the aid of the U.S. Border Patrol Airplane Unit using it’s Infrared Radar. At approximately 3: 37 p.m. Grindahl was located in the forest approximately one half mile North of his vehicle.

Grindahl was transported by ambulance to the LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau to be treated.

Agencies involved in the incident were Roseau County Sheriff’s Office, Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force, Warroad Fire Dept., Warroad Rescue, U.S. Border Patrol and the Minnesota DNR.
