The soybean harvest is going full speed ahead. Getting them in the bin is a good thing. A bi-product of the harvest are the millions of Japanese beetles. They are not a good thing. They were imported to help control aphids in the beans. Now they are desperately looking for a place to survive the winter. When the sun is just right so you can see them the air is full of them. The windows on my house have dozens of them crawling about. Ladybugs which are very similar act like a lady. These don’t! If given the chance they bite and stink when smashed. Norway rats came over on ships a long time ago...
