Here she was, a couple of Saturdays ago, this woman who does not quit.

The occasion was the 24th St. Jude's Trail Ride at the Bemis Hill Campground out in the Beltrami Island State Forest, and the weather was far from perfect.

Darlene Danielson, one of the organizers, noted that they actually had a trail ride.

"We had one wagon, driven by Stan Weston, and five horses. That's probably the least ever, but we had fun."

She is a grandmother and knows that Saint Jude is the patron saint of hopeless causes.

But nothing is hopeless for Darlene and friends.
