Virginia- Gordon A. Magnuson died on September 21, 2023 at the age of 88.

Gordon was born on the family farm near Roseau on June 1, 1935 to parents Alvin and Alice Magnuson. He attended a one-room elementary school for eight years and, after graduating from Roseau High School, he enrolled in Bemidji State College. After a short stint of public school teaching, he attained an M.A. and a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Arkansas.
