The Art of Listening

Listening is a skill which we learn by experience, for me it has been mostly learned by my failures. I frustrate others when I argue or interrupt their chain of thought. I become impatient.

At times, when I enter into a conversation, I am already riding on my own personal train. My thoughts and ideas are entrenched in a private road map. If somebody attempts to change my direction, well, I'm riding on a very fast train which will be very difficult to turn around. Am I listening? No, I am not listening, I am planning my rebuttal.
