They were buying groceries.

Lots of them.

There was going to be an important party.

Last Friday afternoon, Shena Brandt, a 2004 RHS graduate, was spotted in SuperOne in Roseau with her daughters, Laney and Joanna.

There appeared to be mischief in Joanna's bright smile as she stood up in the grocery cart.

She is all of six and a Roseau kindergartener while her big sister, Laney, a third grader, whose birthday was October 23, spoke so quietly it would help to be a lip reader.

And your teacher is?

"Mrs. Bjorkquist," she said, standing close to her mother.

Laney is a hockey player.
