There will be a big bash on Thursday, December 7, at the Roseau Public Library, now housed in a classy facility at the Roseau City Center with many events planned during the day.

It's been only 85 years since Roseau actually had a public library.

Possibly, the Swedes and Norwegians who first populated this fine area weren't big readers.

Or, they didn't have electricity.

The Roseau County Heritage Book, published by the Roseau County Museum some years ago, provides considerable information.

Missing are the names of the earliest librarians.
