I was getting ready to go to bed when my dog Nova Mae brought a stuffed toy to me; she wanted me to throw it for her. "Nova, baby, it's bedtime," I said. She gave me a pleading flash of her sweet puppy dog eyes; how could I tell her no? "Okay, but only three throws, alright?"
