Several nights ago our phone rang at two in the morning, and for the next 45 minutes I was in conversation with a college freshman who, in tears at the beginning of the conversation, poured out her frustration and confusion about what place God, if there is a God, should have in her life. The stirring of her heart over spiritual matters was precipitated by her roommate's urging to "give her life to Christ" as Savior and Lord.
