On a relatively quiet day at the Roseau County Sheriff's Department, Chief Deputy Sheriff Tobi Eidsmoe was asked about the newest lawman to join the department.

"Carter Pelland is a wonderful guy. He uses common sense while he works his shift, and he enforces the law that way, too."

For the record, Deputy Pelland has been here before, fresh out of college and was initially stationed at the Roseau County Detention Center as a jailer.

Then, he took a full-time position with the Warroad P.D.

Chief Deputy Eidsmoe remarked that Carter is a pretty solid guy.
