My grandpa, Keneth Allan Cole, was a veteran of World War II. He was born in Penturan, Minnesota, which is in the heart of the Beltrami Forest. He enlisted in the Navy in July 1945 and served for two years. He was mostly just part of the clean-up crew, so he didn't receive any awards, and his rank was Seaman.
