I'd like to see my old man again.

But heaven will have to wait.

He was a character right out of Dickens in "A Christmas Carol."

In other words, he was memorable.

He wasn't much for outdoor activities unless he had a drink nearby.

He'd take us fishing about once a year with his old pal, Dick Massopust, a World War I veteran who chewed on a big stogie, took an instant disliking to carp, which he snapped across his knee before tossing back into the St. Croix River, and was a helluva fisherman.

Dick was a great guy.
