Go ahead and smile about a life worthwhile

I never feel sad going to a funeral when the deceased was over 80, enjoyed a good stiff drink, had a much younger girlfriend, did amazing things, and still had all his marbles.
Then we should say, "Let's celebrate. He had a good life!"
Damn right, he did.
Don't shed any tears. Just look at the obit pages and see them dying in their forties and younger.
Every week in this newspaper, the obituaries are second only to the Court Report in readership.
I first met Elaine Swenson in the 1970s when she was married to Pete.
The marriage didn't last, but Elaine went the distance until last week when...
