Harry Pederson had no intention of getting married when he was discharged from the Army in the spring of 1948. Harry had been inducted into the Army in October 1946 and after basic training, was assigned to the 8th Army Division and saw action in the Pacific Theater of operation. He also served with the 209th Military Police Company, and as an automotive mechanic. Harry's citations for service included the World War II Medal, the Victory Medal and the Medal of Occupation-Japan.
