Mooney is in the money at Fertile Tourney

At the 2018 Northwest Wrestling Tournament in Fertile on Saturday, junior Chandler Mooney won all the marbles in nailing down the 145-pound title with a 7-3 victory over Crookston's Lucas Meier, an old adversary who never quits.
In winning the title, Mooney improved his season record to 33 & 2.
Freshman Race Knochenmus (18 & 10) earned runner-up honors at 126 by defeating Minot's Chase Burke on a 7-2 decision in the semis and then lost to top-seeded Cade Lundeen in the finals. The Thief River Falls ace pinned Race at the 5:27 mark of the third period.
