Roseau- Melissa A. Wilson, 42, of Roseau, passed away on August 21, 2022, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D. She was born to Pearl and Kristy Wilson on August 7, 1980 in Paris, Ill. She graduated from Martinsville High School in 1998. She had an associate degree in Psychology from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D.
Melissa was employed at Northwest Regional Library – Roseau branch and SuperOne.
Melissa is survived by her longtime partner, Jim Floyd, of Roseau; her three children, Zowe Cartwright of Colorado Springs, Colo., Reygan McCanna of Roseau and Tryce Floyd of Roseau; her nephew Toby Wilson of Roseau; two step-daughters, Genesis Lee of Fargo, N.D. and Cambria Floyd of Fargo, N.D. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Wilson, in 2009.
One of her children wrote this– Mom meant the world to me. I wouldn't be who I am without her. She taught me how to be strong. We were each other's laughter, tears, and even anger. No matter what, we loved each other. She was proud of everything I've done and I will continue to make her proud.
A Celebration of Life for Melissa A. Wilson of Roseau will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose Free Lutheran Church in Roseau. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
