For years until the pandemic, I ran my annual coal train at Christmas time and those deserving of lumps of coal were properly honored in this column.

It was a spoof on some of the town's elite and also the commoners, the latter who I identify with.

It was called the "Lumps for Chumps" and nobody was left out, including myself and especially politicians and presidents.

If you were the mayor, a renowned State Patrol officer, someone who screwed up my order, and at least one public official who tossed me out of the voting area during the general election, you were celebrated as a recipient.
