On Saturday morning, I rolled out of bed with Scott Simon's marvelous voice in my ears.

He is NPR's Weekend Edition broadcaster and was mentioning that the national reporters who fly along on Air Force One will steal damn near anything.

In my book, it is not stealing.

It's collecting souvenirs.

Down in Florida last Saturday, this big Greek, who once hailed from Thunder Bay, Ontario, sat bolt upright and immediately said, "Bro would even take the seat he was sitting in."

And he is correct.

For years, he was the Roseau High School principal, and I'd borrow his pens right out of his desk drawer....
