To the Editor,

Well, there are now only two giant cottonwood trees left of the original five that my grandfather hauled in the trunk of the car from the Missouri Breaks in the early forties. The last one was the biggest and proved true to that old adage, “The bigger they are, the harder they fall.” Right across the fence, which was no big surprise. I had a much better idea of how big it really was by the time it was cut into movable pieces.
