Dr. Chibuike Anokwute Joins Altru Clinic in Roseau

Chibuike Anokwute, M.D., a family medicine physician, joins Altru Clinic in Roseau. Dr. Anokwute is board certified and specializes in obstetrics and rural emergency and hospitalist medicine. He takes a compassionate, family-based approach to treating his patients in Roseau. He states, “The patient is the community and the community is the patient. Treating and teaching the patient is treating and teaching the community.”

Dr. Anokwute earned his medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine in Netherlands Antilles. After completing his family medicine residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., he came to Grand Forks, N.D. to complete his obstetrics fellowship at Altru Family Medicine Residency.

Outside of work, he and his wife spend time on their farm raising cows, goats, chickens, pheasants, pigs and rabbits. He also enjoys traveling and reading novels. In addition to English, Dr. Anokwute speaks fluent Igbo, a Nigerian language.
