An old guy's perspective on life's treasures

 


It was great growing up in the 1950s when almost every kid worth his salt would find some old Model T or 1932 Ford coupe at a junk yard and have visions of fixing it up.

My pal Donny Baker, who lived at 4717 Ewing Ave So. in Minneapolis, worked on a '32 Ford coupe with loving devotion in the late 1950s, but it was a losing cause.

It sat in his driveway for a couple years - a testament to his lack of mechanical skills.

Or patience.

It's funny about cars.

They're an American love affair until some civic-minded public officials want them out of sight.
