RC Commissioners Talk Dollars and Sense

At last Thursday's Roseau County Board meeting, money was the topic, both in spending it and collecting it.

"We set the levy and budget for next year," said board chair Jack Swanson this past Monday.

"The expenditure budget is $24 million something. It projects about a $1.6 million deficit for 2020, but this year's budget also projected a multi-million dollar deficit," he said, mentioning that the levy is a little over $7 million.

"That's up 3 percent from 2019," he said.

Again, he noted that the budget will exceed $24 million.
