From high water to soaring sewer rates

On Tuesday, the Roseau County Board issued a disaster declaration for the recent flooding in the northwestern part of the county.

"This will be our third weather-related declaration in about a year and a half," said Commissioner Jack Swanson after the meeting.

He noted that Daryl Wickland had said that they've had about 18 inches of rain since the first of June in the Badger-Greenbush area.

Commissioner Swanson mentioned that in the last two rains, the City of Roseau received about three inches while the Badger-Greenbush area received a total of nine inches.
