How Much Is A Billion?

Life got interesting for a little while last evening. While yackity yacking on the phone my dogs, one half great pyrenees and half German shepherd and Turbo a miniature rat terrier wanted desperately to get out. Assuming without really looking that there was a rabbit or maybe deer in the yard I opened the door while yelling “sic ‘em”. At the same time they both cleared the door I noticed the Pepe’ Le Pew aka skunk on the bottom step of the porch. The terrier grabbed it briefly before it got away under the porch. Thumper, the big dog, couldn’t get through the hole the skunk went through. Turbo came back in the house when told to. Luckily Pepe’ escaped out the other end of the porch. Thumper caught it behind the house and the twelve gauge kept by the front door made a happy ending for all but Pepe’. The smell in the house wasn’t that bad, it just made my eyes water and throat burn. That too will pass. After forty-three years in this house and dozens of skunk visits that was the first on the front porch. We had Snoopy for twelve years and her son Lurch for another eleven. Snoopy had a hatred for skunks that she taught and passed on to Lurch. They hunted down and killed skunks around here so no shotgun was needed for over twenty years. Thumper doesn’t have the hatred they did, but it will come with a couple more experiences. For an animal that so many shoot on sight and is impossible to keep out of a trap it is hard to believe there are so many.
On a different note our wonderful congress passing a bill to exempt themselves from IRS audit although reported many times in different places was not true. With a hundred seventy-four thousand dollar salary and a rumored 1.6 million gain in net worth per year maybe an IRS audit would be a good idea. The IRS gets their funding from said congress and is very unlikely to bite the hands that feed them.
On a different note Nancy Pelosi randomly had a film crew in her office at the Capitol on January 6 and her son-in-law Michiel Vos came over from Europe to film and pose with Jake Angeli aka “The Qanon Shamon” on the Capitol steps. But did not plan or coordinate anything. Meanwhile they have not set a date for prime time hearings on the BLM and Antifa riots that left 19 dead, 2,000 officers injured, 97 police cars burned, over 600 acts of arson, 2,300 acts of looting and more than 2 billion dollars in property damage.
In 1947 Congress passed the 22nd amendment limiting the president to two terms. They said “Too much power for too long is a threat to our freedom”. Put term limits for congress and senate on the 2024 election. Our career politicians can not be trusted to not look out for themselves. Let the people vote on it, that is the only way our voices will ever be heard. When clocks go back November 6 we can only hope they go back to when people had morals, values, loyalty, appreciation and respect. As of now there are two Americas. One is obsessed with masks, vaccines, homosexuality, abortion, pronouns, BLM, feminism, soy lattes, mental illness, censorship, ending whiteness and government control. The other is about family, community, freedom, God and minding our own business. Our world has been confused for a long time. Abraham Lincoln once asked an audience how many legs a dog has if you count the tail as a leg. When they answered five, Lincoln told them that answer was four. The fact that you called the tail a leg did not make it a leg. Meanwhile. How much is a billion? A billion seconds ago it was 1959. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the stone age. A billion days ago no one on earth walked on two feet. A billion dollars ago was only eight hours and twenty minutes at the current rate of government spending. If one swamp creature lies and ten more swear that it is true, it is still a lie.

It is a sad day when it is easier to abort an American child than to deport an illegal alien. The devil wouldn’t be attacking us so hard if there wasn’t something valuable inside of us. Thieves don’t break into empty houses.
