Keith Severson, 39, announced his write-in candidacy for the Roseau City Council last week.
"It is pretty late. I won't deny that," said the former rural Wannaska resident who has seen the world more so than most Roseau County residents.
He had considered filing for a seat on the Roseau City Council back in August.
"I missed the deadline to get on the ballot, and then I kind of let it slide."
Recently, a number of individuals asked if he would give it a run as a write-in candidate.
"I figured I'd give it a try and see what happens," he said.
