Front Porch Medicine

When I was little, I often pretended to be a nurse. We had a front porch the full width of our house. My dolls were my patients. Some of my dolls had cloth bodies which became very badly stained. Every year at Christmas time, I would receive a new doctor's kit. The first thing I would do after unwrapping my new doctor's kit would be to eat all the candy pills in the kits pill bottle, the kit would then be ready for use. I don't remember having the doctor's kit from the year before available to play with. I have a feeling my mother secretly threw it away some time before the new kit was given....
