by Jeff Olsen On Tuesday, Jack Swanson, the public information officer for the coronavirus response in Roseau County, announced that there are now five COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday, June 9. "They either traveled and contracted it or they were in contact with somebody who had traveled," he said. "In other words, it didn't spread within the county." Swanson, also a Roseau County Commissioner, had not been informed whether any of the other four had been hospitalized as had the first COVID-19 case in Roseau County. "The concern would be much...
With today’s day of social media, it’s easy to see how many influencers there are in the Fitness Industry. I’m here to say do not skip leg day EVER. Why? Because you’re going to be exposed faster today than ever before. This mindset article will prove to you that a body that is equally worked is stronger than a body that only works beach muscles. There’s a show on NBC called The Titan Games with Dwayne The Rock Johnson as the host. Because I don’t watch much TV I was surprised I caught this small segment on video. As my EMT partner and I were...
Changes happen, choices are chosen. Have you ever heard that before? Does that even make sense? This mindset coaching article will clear it all up if that doesn’t make sense already. Throughout the day there are many things happening without us even realizing it. Most of it really doesn’t matter. However, there is a small percentage that does. One percent to be exact. Focus on what you can control and forget what you can’t. Changes happen, choices are chosen. If there’s one thing that I know will happen more than the sun coming up tomorro...
Has there ever been an experience in your life that you needed something to do? Filling that time with something to do versus something to live for will reveal that you’re numb to actually living your life. This mindset coaching article will provide you with what you’ve been doing for too long and a way to get out of it. I was meditating and I needed my dog to settle down. So I gave him a chew toy. That reminded me of what it feels like to kill time. We do this all too often. Take Facebook, for instance. Going onto Facebook and scrolling thr...
Have you ever noticed that your parents, or whoever raised you, have a major impact on your life? Our parents are the voices in our heads. Because the opinions that our parents had impacted us on a deeper level that we didn't even know about. This mindset coaching article will reveal how much of our analytical mind is actually our parent’s point of view. I'll reference back to a paragraph from my last article… Opinions are like assholes, we all have them. Giving someone your opinion doesn't make it right, it's your opinion. We say that opi...
COVI- What? If I Hear This ONE More Time... From what I can see this thing has gotten WAY out of hand. Also, on the other hand it takes a little common sense to prevent it. I'm purposefully not saying the name because then, I give it power over my mind. Wash your hands, do the workout of the day, eat food that isn't going to damage your immune system, drink a TON of water, and get plenty of sleep. That my friend is what a person does daily to prevent ANY kind of illness. That's all I have for you this week. Be safe and stay positive because... Full story
Have you ever heard of something called Facebook Perfect? What you think is happening really isn’t. This is a problem that our grandparents didn't have to worry about. This mindset coaching article will reveal what people are saying about me while really the opposite is happening. What is really happening is the opposite of what you think. When I started the Consecutive 365 WOD Journey I told myself I will get at least one round completed of each WOD for 365 days straight. Before I declared that to myself I was doing the WODs sporadically. To b...
Have you ever thought about how much we take for granted each moment of every day? Our habits are wrapped around it. Especially if the awareness isn’t on what you’re doing. Expressing gratitude breaks habits like that. This mindset coaching article will help increase awareness towards those unhealthy habits. This might get a little weird but stick with me because it will pay off in the end. So there I was finishing up eating pizza for supper on a Sunday night. The urge to pee hit me hard. Without thinking about it I went straight to the bat...
Being underestimated happens all the time. People do it is every day. We do it to ourselves every moment. Unless you’re in alignment with your truth. This mindset coaching article is about how the best stories about underdogs mean more than all of the instant flashes in the pan one-offs combined. Watching movies was my favorite thing to do growing up. Well, that and playing video games. Also eating crappy foods. LOL. What I recognize about all the movies as that there is always an underdog. Stories about underdogs mean more to me because I a...
As soon as you realize there is no wagon and you ARE the wagon, then you begin to live life. Today's mindset coaching article will rewire your brain from the traditional bandwagon programs. Just remember there is no wagon to get on or off of. It's all lifestyle. There is one caveat: If you're happy and I mean 100% happy with your life you don't need to read or do any of the WODs or listen to my coaching. I'm not talking to you. As we grow up, our analytical minds are developed to take in what our parents tell us as truth and law. For example,...
I talk about the flight to health and sustainable change with a deep passion. Today's mindset coaching article will provide you with a skillset to know when too much change is dangerous. Going from zero to one hundred and changing too fast is not sustainable for the long game. This topic can be a little repetitive because I talked about it in WOD #249. It was about how the biggest loser mentality might keep you from losing weight. For this article, I'll take it a little deeper. Trying to change too many things at once is not sustainable. Your...

Have you ever given someone advice and immediately thought that totally applied to yourself? Some of the best advice we can give is to ourselves. This mindset coaching article will provide you with the tools to know when you're giving advice that will benefit you as well. Let's talk about opinions for a moment. Opinions are like assholes, we all have them. Giving someone your opinion doesn't make it right, it's your opinion. We say that opinion based on what benefits us. Right or wrong it's just how most people are wired. Because of our...
Since the inception of the 365 WOD Journey, I’ve been saying consistency is greater than intensity. Not really knowing that it would have a major impact on other people’s lives more than my own. In this mindset coaching article you’ll see why consistency is greater than intensity and be able to get past all of those short-term all or none programs. Before I started creating the 365 WOD Journey I was like anyone else. That’s not entirely true because I still worked out every day but didn’t know why. It was the same routine with no spark. No...
When thinking about everything that has gone wrong in your life have you ever played the blame game? Playing the blame game is a game that only leads to disappointment. Pointing your finger at someone because you think it was their fault you failed will only mean one thing. You're pointing out all of the shortcomings of yourself. This mindset coaching article will provide you with some insight on what I did to self-sabotage my way out of my job right after college. In all reality, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. By playing the...

Since starting the 365 WOD Journey I've noticed my clients and members of the #Kobernation getting faster and stronger. How do I know? Because of the retests that are strategically placed within the Journey. Time is the one thing we do not get back. That's how we measure progress, time. I remember the summers as a child. They seemed like they lasted forever. Not really grasping the reality of time. Can you imagine if we were like that as an adult? Life can feel like that again. We need to get out of the thought that time is linear. Our...
When you find yourself in a pickle and need to think quickly about what you'd do I'm reminded of the Disney movie Finding Dory. Ask yourself this question: “What would Dory do?” You could even simply be more like Dory and think from your heart instead of your head. Having a plan is great and all, but leading with your heart is way more exciting. Finding your inner Dory will help you become happier. Be more like Dory from Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. Dory doesn’t overthink anything. She just does. The story of Dory is a perfect repre...
Many times we worry about what we look like while we workout. Looking sexy while working out is overrated. You have the rest of the day to look good. What you look like while you work out matters only to personal trainers, exercise physiologists, and physical therapists. Even then you don't need to worry. You have the rest of the day to look good. Looking sexy while working out only happens on TV and Instagram. Let's be real, nobody looks good working out. At least the majority of us don't. There's one percent of people that do look good. Who...
What do you think of when someone says sexy flat tummy versus strong abdomen? The usual response I get is a sexy flat tummy is what I want. A strong abdomen isn’t sexy. It’s practical. Most of us aren’t practical when it comes to health, wellness, fitness, and weight loss. All we want are flat stomach exercises. With each WOD you'll definitely have a flatter tummy, all in due time. What is really crazy to me is when people look for an exercise for flat tummy in 7 days. The scientific piece of it is that we all have an abdomen. The real truth...
When we feel we aren't safe we all want to go home. I'm not talking about the physical place, but the spiritual space. Remembering all fun things about home can be a great trip down memory lane. Before you get too far down that road think about all of the people who don't have a physical home. Be grateful for all of your blessings no matter how big or small. As I write this, I am 8 days out of surgery. I've been watching TV and by watching TV I mean Binge-Watching TV. I haven't done this for a VERY long time. My doctor's orders were to do as li...
Ever since I started the doing the WODs that I’ve created, daily I noticed my body changing in a way that I never thought possible with such a little amount of work. You have 23 hours and fifty minutes to recover. At the very least it will take you 90 Seconds to complete a WOD (Workout Of The Day). Too many people discredit small amounts of intentional work. What I mean by that is just because a “workout” isn't intense doesn't mean there aren't benefits to be had. Since the early sixties, the concept of sweating equals hard work has been engra...
Going on a diet only implies one thing. Heck going on anything only implies one thing. It implies that eventually, you’ll go off of whatever you’re on. In today's world of instant gratification, we are faced with it every day. It's time to shed some light on what diets do to our minds as well as our bodies. There are too many programs, influencers and hoaxes out there trying to get your attention and money. All I want is your honesty and to increase your awareness. When you think about going on a diet, that's what happens, you think that it...
Have you ever heard of the Rule of Seven? It's an old marketing strategy that I've come to realize also works for changing your lifestyle. The rule of seven for permanent change works exactly like the rule of 7 for marketing. Why do you think that so many of us need subtle reminders to do something? I know I don't like it when I forget about that appointment or to call someone at a certain time. We need reminders. The rule of seven does just that. In today's day of technology, it's something that is always with us. Where you invest your love,... Full story
There's nothing that pisses me off more than mean people. Each time I have someone new come to my YGT Fitness Group Personal Training Class I always tell them that they can either be nice or go home. Nobody's got time for a crappy attitude and a salty outlook on life. However, sometimes all it takes is an interruption to shake off that salty outlook. My suggestions for that interruption would be to come in and get your sweat on because your first class is free. Not everyone is within the vicinity of the town that the YGT Fitness Group Personal...
