However, the good news is that Roseau earned the #1 seed in the Section 8AA playoffs and gained the home ice that comes along with that distinction. Submitted by Steve Huglen After last playing in East Grand Forks back on February 25th, the Roseau Rams were eager to get back into game mode as they hosted the Crookston Pirates on March 5th and picked up a 9-1 win. Roseau then played East Grand Forks at home on Monday, March 8th and completed a season sweep of the Green Wave with a 7-0 shutout win. The Rams gained two wins on the weekend which improved their section record to 6-0-1. For the third time the Rams found themselves holding the short end of the stick as Warroad picked up a 6-3 win. Submitted by Steve Huglen After defeating Bemidji 8-1 in the quarter-finals, the Rams Girls hockey team knocked off Buffalo 7-3 in the semi-finals before beating arch rival Brainerd 6-3 in the championship game on Friday, February 14th. The Rams Girls hockey team beat the Hibbing Blue Jackets by a 3-2 score at the Rams Center on Saturday, January 12th. Roseau surged to a quick 3-0 lead with still 7:43 remaining to play in the opening period at which time Hibbing coach Emily Erickson elected to use her timeout. The last time these two rivals met on the ice was back in February when the Section 8AA championship trophy was at stake.
